Woodland and urban challenges in Izmir, Turkey
In conjunction with the national architecture week in Izmir, Turkey, a weekly program will be organized in which Swedish and Turkish actors will meet and exchange experiences about urban challenges.
The program is part of Equal Spaces – a long-term venture aimed at strengthening the exchange of knowledge between Sweden and Turkey in terms of architecture and urban development. In conjunction with the architecture week, the Swedish Institute and the Swedish Consulate General in Istanbul, in collaboration with local partners, launches a program containing, among other things, three exhibitions that relate to the city in various ways; Woodland Sweden, an exhibition about wood construction in Sweden, The Smart City, addresses the challenges and opportunities that urbanization entails, and Aiming for Democratic Architectur, which shows 30 Swedish examples of how democratic values can be expressed in architecture and urban planning.
The exhibition is open 1 october – 31 october.
